What issues should be noted when printing cardboard boxes? Some cardboard boxes may appear to be of poor quality, largely due to printing issues. To ensure the quality of the cardboard boxes, it is important to pay attention to certain precautions during production. Below are some issues that need to be noted when printing cardboard boxes.
1： The ink color should be eye-catching
Due to the dark color of corrugated cardboard itself, when choosing the color for printing, it is advisable to choose ink with high color saturation and strong coloring (such as bright red), otherwise the printed color will have a significant difference from the desired color.
2： Avoid printing small text
As a printing method for corrugated cardboard boxes, the font size should be determined based on the effectiveness of product promotion. Text with a size of less than 2cm is usually almost illegible at a distance of 5m or more, which also loses the significance of promoting and selling products.
3： Avoid full page printing
When printing graphics and text on or around a corrugated cardboard box, in addition to the pressure effect of the embossing roller on the corrugated cardboard, the ink also has a wetting effect on the paper surface, which will reduce the compressive strength of the corrugated cardboard box. Therefore, the simpler the printing of graphics and text on corrugated cardboard boxes, the better, and try to avoid printing graphics and text everywhere on the entire surface of the box, let alone full page printing.

4： Avoid strip printing (in the same mechanical direction as corrugated cardboard)
Some decoration designers, due to a lack of knowledge in printing technology, have some horizontal gradient lines in the printed patterns of their cardboard boxes. When printing, the printing press will crush the corrugations. This area of the cardboard box will experience stress concentration, making it prone to breakage.
5： Minimize printing pressure as much as possible
To ensure the printing quality of cardboard boxes and reduce the impact on the strength of corrugated cardboard boxes, the printing pressure should be minimized, and fast drying ink should be used as much as possible. Secondly, the printing surface should maintain a distance of at least 15mm from the horizontal indentation line, as the corrugated cardboard cannot fully accept ink in the lower part of the laminating machine's pressure plate, otherwise it will affect the printing effect.
6： Maintain stable paper feeding status
In addition to the stable operating speed of the printing machine, the landing point for manual paper feeding should be fixed. For cardboard with poor flatness, it is necessary to handle it properly, such as folding one side (or both sides) along the horizontal pressure line of the cardboard; The gap between each paper guide should be consistent when manually pressing and feeding, which is an important link in maintaining the stable operation of the cardboard and an important method for the phenomenon of "plate running". Keep the printing equipment in good condition. It should be emphasized here that keeping the mesh roller and printing plate clean directly affects the printing effect. The mesh roller is related to the ink transfer performance, while the printing plate is related to the clarity of printed text and patterns.
